Terms

Short version: read anything here, don't republish it as your own, and no work is underway until we both sign something.

Last updated August 2026.

// What this site is

A description of the studio, not an offer.

Everything here describes the kind of work Black Horizon Systems does and the results of past projects. It's informational. Nothing on this site forms a contract, a quote, or a commitment to take on a project.

// How work starts

Only with a written agreement.

An engagement begins when both of us sign a written proposal or agreement covering scope, price, and timeline. Emails, calls, and intake submissions are conversation — useful, but not an engagement.

Anything said before that agreement, including rough ranges or timelines, is an estimate.

// Content and ownership

The site's content belongs to the studio.

The copy, design, illustrations, and code on this site belong to Black Horizon Systems. You're welcome to read it, quote it with attribution, and share the link. Don't republish it as your own.

Client names and details are kept private by default. Any figures shown in case studies come from project records.

// No warranty

The site is provided as-is.

I keep this site accurate and available, but I don't warrant that it's error-free, always up, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing here is legal, financial, or professional advice for your specific situation.

To the extent the law allows, Black Horizon Systems isn't liable for losses arising from your use of this site. Work performed under a signed agreement is governed by that agreement, not this page.

// Links out

Other sites are their own responsibility.

Where this site links somewhere else, that destination has its own terms and its own practices. I don't control them.

// Changes and governing law

Colorado, and whatever's posted here today.

These terms can change; the current version is always the one on this page. Continued use of the site means the current version applies.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States.
